Our focus on delicious alternative-flour sourdoughs and baked goods delight and carry our guests through their day. Team members are responsible for baking and preparing our in-house made sourdough breads, seasonal bakery offerings, and market provisions and will also be able to participate in varied culinary areas to meet the needs of our full operation. Our bakers rise to the occasion!

  • Artisan and alternative-flour sourdough breads plus a wide variety of baked goods, many of which are surprisingly gluten free. Plus, our ‘hard to believe it’s not dairy’ plant-based ice creams.
  • Creative combinations and inspiring flavors in our beverage offerings: bottled fresh-pressed juice, smoothies, coffee/espresso, tea, local craft beer, wine, cocktails, liquid desserts and adaptogenic tonics and elixirs.
  • Real food with unsurpassed nutrition that everyone will feel great about putting into their body, whether they’re vegan or vegetarian, carnivore or omnivore! A robust online ordering platform, picnics to go, grab-and-go in store and eventual dine-in.
  • In-house produced and packaged goods to stock our Market Provisions along with a robust lifestyle retail selection.
  • Workshops and hosted events, currently via YouTube, Zoom and Instagram Live - and eventually in-house - are an important part of our community outreach and event programming.

Compensation:

Total Compensation Range: $24-$28 per hour

Key Elements of the Baker Role:

  • Actively promote a positive atmosphere and culture of excellence through leadership, teamwork, job knowledge, work ethic and flexibility.
  • Passionate, skilled and creative in your approach to baking as well as open to learning new techniques
  • Knowledge of sourdough, alternative flours and unconventional ingredients a +
  • Know the products, ingredients and sources and can describe our offerings to customers
  • Provide excellent baked goods in an efficient, professional manner
  • Follow current recipe line up and execute recipes, perform quality checks on ingredients and finished products; quality improvement standards always top of mind
  • Attention to detail is key; decorating and displaying finished products to highest level of bakery aesthetics
  • Efficient and friendly with a focus on food quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Be organized, decisive, attentive, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety, housekeeping and sanitation standards
  • Practice a relentless pursuit of consistency, quality, order, and cleanliness. Able to enforce standards
  • Fill-in for fellow employees to ensure guest service standards and efficient operations

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Baking experience in a commercial environment; production schedule and assigning tasks
  • Knowledge of kitchen and baking equipment and small wares
  • Knowledge of baking ingredients with a focus on plant-based food a +
  • Baking technical skill set, depth and experience
  • Enthusiastic & positive attitude with excellent verbal communication skills
  • Teamwork - Balance team and individual responsibilities; Exhibit objectivity and openness to others'
  • Diversity - Show respect and sensitivity for cultural differences
  • Judgment - Exhibit sound and accurate judgment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Extremely reliable, dedicated and willing and able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • Food Handlers Card will be required within 7 days of hire
  • Responds promptly to customer needs; solicits customer feedback to improve service; responds to requests for service and assistance
  • Be passionate about our products, be engaging with a sense of humor
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner
  • Prioritizes and plans work activities; uses time efficiently
